Campaign Manager - Campaign Manager (Silverlight)

Template Toolbar

When working within Campaign Manager, you can view a list of any available templates from the Template tab above the Ribbon bar.

It is important to understand some of the basic usage of templates.

By default, using a template creates a link between the original template document and the usage of that template inside, for example, a campaign.

In this case, editing the original template document will update all its linked templates. This is aimed at usage where the template is used without being edited i.e. using templates for Standard Exclusion rules where you can update the Template Rule, and that will update all instances of usage of that template. In this instance, it is strongly advised that the template within the campaign is not edited, as this introduces complexity around managing changes and potential change conflicts.

Remove Template Link

If the Template is to be amended once used, the link between the original document and the usage of the template should be removed. The Remove Template Link option should be used for this.

Select Template from Drop Down & Apply

Another use of templates is style templates, this option is generally used for that use case.

For example, a Crosstab Grid template is saved with only style options i.e. change background colors and grid style. Once prepared it can be applied to any Crosstab Grid by selecting it from the drop down and clicking the Apply button. The styling in then applied to the new Crosstab.

No Template

In the above example of using templates for styling, this option would remove the styling to return the grid to its default state.

Reset to Template

In the styling template example, this option would revert the styling back to the original template styling if the document has been edited.
